AC Milan in talks to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek

AC Milan are interested in acquiring the services of 27-year-old Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of next season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan are keen on having Ruben Loftus-Cheek in their ranks. The 27-year-old’s future at the club is uncertain, and he could be on the move in the summer.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are looking to rebuild their squad ahead of next season. They want to reinforce their midfield on a priority basis. And, Chelsea’s Loftus-Cheek is one of their primary transfer targets.

Loftus-Cheek has been a part of the Blues’ setup since his childhood days. He has gone from strength to strength over the past few years. While the 27-year-old was promoted to their first team back in 2015, he has not managed to cement his spot in their first team.

Over the years, the Chelsea graduate has been subject to multiple loan moves to gain first-team experience. But, those experiences have not helped his cause. The 27-year-old has featured in 152 matches for the Blues and also has 31 goal contributions.

With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, it seems his time at the club is about to end. Chelsea have signed multiple midfielders over the past few windows and they are planning to bring in another one in the upcoming window.

He is unlikely to get the desired number of minutes next season and is keen on moving to a different club. Meanwhile, AC Milan have been keen on acquiring him for a while now.

The Italian giants were outclassed by their city rivals Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-final. And, they are desperate to bring in reinforcement ahead of next season. Their priority is to strengthen their midfield which has been a concern throughout the ongoing season. And, they have identified the 27-year-old as someone who can solve the majority of their headaches.

The Serie A giants are holding talks with Chelsea over a potential transfer. According to Romano, the talks are progressing well and even the player is keen on joining Milan. As a result, it will be interesting to see if the Italian giants can land him at the club ahead of next season.
