Emiliano Martinez has been linked with a summer move away from Aston Villa, with Chelsea and Manchester United interested.

According to a report from Football Insider, Emiliano Martinez wants to join a big club in the summer transfer window. So the 30-year-old is ready to leave Aston Villa amid links with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Martinez has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world over the last few seasons and he has been a key performer for Aston Villa and his country Argentina. His performances in the World Cup helped the South American giants win the tournament and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for most clubs in the world.

Chelsea and Manchester United need to bring in a quality goalkeeper, and the 30-year-old would be a sensational signing for them. The goalkeeper currently earns £120,000 pounds per week at Aston Villa, and the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United can certainly offer him more money if he joins them. Chelsea need to bring in an upgrade on players like Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Both players have been underwhelming this season and they must look to sign a quality goalkeeper. The Blues are expected to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager, and the Argentine has reportedly placed the World Cup winner on the top of his transfer wish list.

Similarly, Manchester United will have to find a quality alternative to David De Gea. The 32-year-old Spaniard will be out of contract this summer, and his performances have been quite mediocre under Erik ten Hag.

Martinez has won the World Cup with Argentina and he has now set sights on winning more trophies at the club level. The opportunity to play for Chelsea and Manchester United will be an attractive proposition for the player, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Villa have shown tremendous improvement under new manager Unai Emery, and they will not want to lose a key player at the end of the season. However, they will be powerless to stop him from leaving if the player is intent on a move. Aston Villa are currently pushing for European qualification and they will need to bring in a top-class replacement for Martinez if he moves on this summer.
