Arsenal are all set to bid for the services of 30-year-old Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha ahead of next season.
According to Football Insider, Arsenal are keen on having Wilfried Zaha in their ranks ahead of next season. The 30-year-old is likely to part ways with Crystal Palace, and he is looking for a new challenge elsewhere. Meanwhile, there are quite a few clubs keen on having him in their ranks.
Zaha has been leading the attack at Palace for nine years now. He has featured in 458 matches for the Eagles and has been involved in over 160 goals. He has found the back of the on 90 occasions and also has 76 assists to his name.
As far as the ongoing season is concerned, he has been involved in 28 matches. The Ivory Coast international has scored seven goals and also has three assists to his name. Zaha has been the mainstay of their attack for years now. But, with his contract set to expire in the summer, the 30-year-old is likely to part ways with the club.
The Eagles did try to extend his contract but they haven’t succeeded yet. They are ready to offer him a four-year deal worth £200,000 per week. However, Zaha wants to try a new challenge elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are ready to push for his services in the summer. The Gunners have been interested in his services for years now. They have tried to sign him in the past but have failed to prise him away from Crystal Palace.
With the 30-year-old all set to be a free agent, Mikel Arteta’s team have a great opportunity to land him at the club. Arteta wants more firepower in his ranks. The Spanish boss is keen on having greater squad depth that can help him compete for both the Premier League as well as the Champions League title.
And, he believes Zaha will add a lot of goals as well as experience to their ranks. Something that could make them a lot more threatening. However, there are quite a few clubs who will push Arsenal all the way for the signatures of the 30-year-old. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they can finally manage to land him at the club.
