Adam Lallana has reportedly convinced former Liverpool teammate James Milner to join Premier League top-four rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.

According to a report by Football Insider, Adam Lallana has played a crucial role in convincing James Milner to join Brighton & Hove Albion. The veteran midfielder is on the verge of leaving Liverpool as a free agent. And he will likely join the Reds’ Premier League top-four rivals in the summer transfer window.

James Milner has carved a lasting legacy since joining Liverpool from Manchester City in July 2015. The Reds were not top-four regulars when the 37-year-old left the Citizens. But he has played a pivotal role in the Merseyside club’s ascent as one of the best teams in the Premier League.

The Englishman has turned out over 300 times for Liverpool, chipping in with 26 goals and 46 assists. Milner has won every trophy with Liverpool while reprising almost every role for the club. But the veteran midfielder’s Liverpool contract ends in the summer. And he will likely leave as a free agent to join Premier League top-four rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Seagulls have come leaps and bounds since securing promotion to the Premier League nearly half a dozen years ago. And they are now one of the contenders to secure a top-four finish this season. Roberto De Zerbi, in particular, has galvanised Brighton, who should secure European qualification this term.

But Brighton & Hove Albion are in danger of losing some of their top players this summer. Alexis Mac Allister, in particular, is a top target for several clubs, with Liverpool closing in on securing his services. And De Zerbi wants the South Coast club to bolster the midfield unit, with Milner emerging as a target.

Recent reports have claimed that Milner wants to join Brighton in the summer transfer window. And according to Football Insider, former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has played a crucial role in convincing the veteran midfielder.

The 34-year-old previously spent several years with Liverpool before joining Brighton. And Lallana has found a second wind since moving to the Amex Stadium. Plus, with Brighton becoming a top-half club, Milner can potentially end his glittering career with a solid stint with the Seagulls.
