Chelsea are discussing a potential summer move for 22-year-old OGC Nice defensive midfielder Khephren Thuram.
According to Rudy Galetti, Chelsea are keen on having Khephren Thuram in their ranks. The Blues are in talks over a possible move for the 22-year-old to the Stamford Bridge. Thuram has been in sensational form in the ongoing season. And, quite a few clubs keen on acquiring his services.
Thuram came through the ranks at AS Monaco before joining OGC Nice back in the summer of 2019. Ever since he joined Nice, the 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength. His performances also resulted in his debut for the French team in March.
The Nice midfielder has made a total of 136 appearances during his time at the club and also has 19 goal contributions. As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the 22-year-old has been the mainstay of their team. Meanwhile, his market value has risen to €32 million.
He has featured in 46 matches and has managed to rack up 10 goal contributions. He has been a rock in front of their backline. And, his performances have resulted in a lot of attention from across Europe. While his contract with Nice runs until the summer of 2025, the 22-year-old is expected to move on to a bigger club in the summer given the amount of interest in him.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are one of the big clubs willing to go all out for the Nice midfielder. They are willing to further bolster their midfield in the summer. And, Chelsea have prepared a list of players they will be pushing for. Thuram is one of their key targets heading into the summer transfer market.
With Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic likely to part ways with the Blues in the upcoming window, Chelsea need to bring in quality midfielders to keep up with the other big clubs. They might have struggled in the ongoing season. But given the quality of their squad, the Blues can surely bounce back next season.

And, signing Thuram will only help their cause as the 22-year-old is a versatile player who can feature in multiple positions. The French international can feature as a defensive midfielder, a central midfielder or can even play on the left flank if needed.
