Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

Tammy Abraham joined AS Roma at the start of last season, and he has been an instant hit at the Italian club. Abraham helped Roma win the UEFA Europa Conference League last year and scored 27 goals across all competitions. A report from Fichajes claims that Manchester United and Tottenham are now hoping to bring him back to the Premier League.

Apparently, the English striker is valued at €40-€45 million. And it remains to be seen whether Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to fork out that kind of money to sign the 25-year-old.

Abraham has nine goals and seven assists to his name across all competitions this season. He could prove to be a useful acquisition for the two clubs. He has been linked with Arsenal as well.

Manchester United have been overly reliant on Marcus Rashford this season. But the England international will need more support in the attack in the coming seasons. Signing Abraham will allow Rashford to play this natural role as the left forward, and the former Chelsea star could lead the line for the Red Devils.

At Tottenham, they have been overly reliant on Harry Kane, and Abraham could share the goalscoring burden with the 29-year-old. Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham, with Manchester United among his prospective suitors. And Abraham could be his long-term replacement as well.

Furthermore, the Roma star is relatively young and is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. He could prove to be a solid, long-term investment for the Manchester United and Tottenham.

Abraham knows the Premier League well and should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact. The reported €40-€45 million asking price seems reasonable for a player of his ability, and he could end up justifying the outlay in the long run. The player has been linked with a return to Chelsea in the past as well, and the Blues have a buyback option in his contract.

The opportunity to return to the Premier League could be an attractive proposition for the player. Abraham will feel that regular football at a top Premier League club will enhance his chances of starting regularly for his country. Manchester United are expected to return to the Champions League next season, and the opportunity to play for them could prove to be hard to turn down.
