Mohamed Salah has been linked with a summer move away from Liverpool, with Federico Chiesa emerging as the option to replace him.

According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool are now looking at potential replacements for Mohamed Salah. And they have identified the Juventus star Federico Chiesa as a potential alternative. But the Bianconeri are not interested in parting ways with the winger, whose market value is €50 million.

The Italian international is rated highly around Europe and he has a big future ahead of him. The 25-year-old has struggled with persistent injury problems in recent months. But he remains a top-class player with all the attributes to develop into a world-class attacker. It remains to be seen whether he can get over his injury problems and develop into a top-class player for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah has a contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2025. And Liverpool could look to cash in on him this summer in order to raise funds for their transfer business. The Egyptian is undoubtedly the best player at the club, and he has 28 goals across all competitions.

His departure could weaken Liverpool significantly, but there is no doubt that they need the funds in order to revamp their midfield. Meanwhile, the Reds view Chiesa as a potential replacement for the Egyptian wizard.

Liverpool need multiple reinforcements in the middle of the park. Players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are expected to leave the club at the end of the season as free agents. So Liverpool will have to bring in adequate alternatives.

They have been linked with players like Jude Bellingham. But the Borussia Dortmund star’s asking price means that Liverpool will not be able to afford him without a big sale.

On the other hand, Chiesa is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition either. The Italian international could cost a premium. He is valued at €50 million by transfermarkt. Chiesa was one of the main driving forces behind Italy winning the European championships in 2021.

He was expected to develop into a world-class player for club and country since then. But his development has been hampered because of injury problems. If Jurgen Klopp can help him get over his injury issues, Liverpool could have a world-class player on their hands.

That said, he will be replacing a player like Salah, who has barely had any injuries since joining the club in 2017. The move seems like a major gamble. However, it might not be possible either, with Juventus not interested in parting ways with the Italian winger.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can convince Juventus to sell the 25-year-old to them in the summer transfer window. If not, it remains to be seen who emerges on their radar as a possible offensive reinforcement.
