Liverpool could place an €80 million price tag on Mohamed Salah as speculation mounts regarding the forward’s future at Merseyside.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool could demand €80 million for the sale of Mohamed Salah. Media reports suggest the Egyptian is considering his future at the club amid links with Paris Saint-Germain, with the Merseysiders likely to cash in big on the 30-year-old.

Liverpool had a disappointing end to last season with the loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final. They also narrowly lost to Manchester City in the Premier League title race. Many predicted them to challenge on all fronts in the current campaign.

Instead, they have endured a torrid period, languishing in sixth and staring at a possible elimination from the UEFA Champions League. The performances of many players have led to calls that Jurgen Klopp needs a major revamp in possibly all areas of the team, something the manager ponders.

The exit of Sadio Mane did weaken their attack as the new arrivals found their rhythm. The Senegalese international broke up the famed trio of him, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, as the upcoming summer could see more changes. With the Brazilian set to depart, the Egyptian, too, could leave.

Salah has had another brilliant season with 22 goals and 11 assists in all competitions. And if clubs are interested and the player keen on leaving, Liverpool may not stand in the way. Instead, they could cash in significantly to improve their transfer funds.

The Merseysiders could demand €80 million for Salah in the next window. The 30-year-old talismanic star only signed a new contract last summer until 2025. Liverpool have the leverage if they sell him just a year after the extension.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on Salah as they eye changes to their front line. Neymar could depart the club, while Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe’s futures remain in significant doubt. The Liverpool star could replace one of those and keep the high levels of the club’s attack.

Some speculate the forward would want to keep playing in the Champions League and may not prefer to drop down to the Europa League. After a resurgent few weeks, Liverpool suffered a setback in their race for a top-four finish with their loss to Bournemouth.

For now, Liverpool and Salah will focus on the remainder of the season, starting with the Champions League clash with Real Madrid. A future call could materialise in the summer, depending on how much interest there is in the talismanic star.
