Paris Saint-Germain are plotting a move for Mohamed Salah in the summer as they seek a viable replacement for one of their current superstars.

According to Football Insider, Paris Saint-Germain have set sights on Mohamed Salah as they seek an attacking replacement in the summer. One of their coveted forwards could depart after the season, with the Liverpool talisman seen as a viable alternative.

Paris Saint-Germain may possess the most potent group of attackers on paper, but their futures are unclear. There are significant doubts about whether Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe or Neymar will stay at the club beyond the season, something the club are alert to.

Mbappe has tremendous interest from Premier League clubs and from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants remain the favourites to sign the French superstar, but any transfer would prove tricky. Meanwhile, Messi’s contract ends in the summer, and talks have not been successful despite all the efforts.

The World Cup winner has lucrative proposals from Saudi Arabia and the MLS. Whether he stays at PSG will depend on multiple factors. Finally, there are concerns over Neymar, who, despite having the longest contract among the trio, is in danger of departing the Parisians.

PSG are already making plans in case one or all three stars depart in the summer. They could plot a move for 30-year-old Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to replace one of their attackers. Despite his team’s struggles on all fronts, the Egyptian continues to have a decent season.

Salah has 19 goals and five assists from 34 games across all competitions, which has not reflected upon his team’s results. The Egyptian only signed a new three-year deal in the summer, including bonuses worth a reported £400,000 per week. He is also a handful of players at Liverpool with a decent transfer market value.

While Liverpool plan a major overhaul next summer, they might have to sell some valuable stars to make up the funds. They might even consider offloading Salah if they receive reasonable offers. Paris Saint-Germain certainly have the financial capabilities to make it happen.

Whether they want to bring a player having entered his thirties remains the question. Salah is well settled at Anfield, but an exciting offer from elsewhere could tempt the 30-year-old Liverpool star. Moreover, if the Reds fail to qualify for the Champions League, it could also affect the forward’s future.

PSG will likely wait until the summer before deciding to pursue Salah. As mentioned, much will depend on one of their current attackers departing the club in the summer, as they would need a suitable replacement.
