Leeds United will battle it out with West Ham United for the services of 27-year-old Ligue 1 star forward Habib Diallo.

According to a report by Football Insider, Leeds United and West Ham United are both interested in signing Habib Diallo. The 27-year-old has been in sensational form in the ongoing season. His performances have not gone unnoticed, and there are quite a few clubs interested in having Diallo in their ranks.

The Senegal international has been a part of Strasbourg since joining them from FC Metz back in October 2020. He has been one of the primary sources of goals since arriving at the club. He has gone from strength to strength over the years.

As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the 27-year-old has found the back of the net on 17 occasions in 32 Ligue 1 appearances. Diallo has taken his game to the next level in the current campaign and he has attracted attention from a lot of clubs of late.

Premier League clubs Leeds United and West Ham United had sent scouts to watch the Senegal international in action as they prepare to push for his services in the summer. The Scouts were present in the stands to watch Strasbourg go up against Lyon on Friday night.

The Ligue 1 club are well aware of the amount of interest in his services. While Diallo’s contract at the club runs until the summer of 2025, they feel it will be very difficult to keep hold of the 27-year-old for another season. And, they are ready to let him leave if the right offer arrives.

Meanwhile, Leeds United are currently struggling for survival in the English top flight. Majority of their problems have been because of an inconsistent attack. Their star striker Patrick Bamford has struggled for form. He has only managed five goals in all competitions this season.

Their priority is to sign a new forward in the summer irrespective of whether they manage to avoid relegation or not. And, the Senegal international is on their radar as they believe he could help their cause.

However, Leeds are not the only one in the race. They will face competition from West Ham United. The Hammers are just five points clear of the drop zone. They have had a disappointing run in the ongoing season and are looking to reinforce their squad in the summer to revive themselves.

West Ham are also looking to sign a new forward who can improve their goal-scoring record. The Hammers have spent a decent amount on signing forwards of late but the results haven’t followed.

And, they are now looking to push for the services of the 27-year-old to end their struggles in front of the goal. With Leeds and West Ham ready to battle it out, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
