Manchester City want bring in defensive reinforcements at the end of the season and have identified Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson as a target.

Antonee Robinson has been a key player for Fulham this season, and his performances have caught the attention of Manchester City. A report from Fichajes claims that the Premier League champions are looking to secure his services.

The American international is a talented young player with a big future ahead of him, and he could prove to be a solid, long-term investment for Manchester City. The Premier League side has had to use Nathan Ake as the left-back this season. But the Dutch international is more suited to the role of a central defender.

Pep Guardiola must look to bring in a specialist left-back at the end of the season. To that end, the 25-year-old Fulham star could prove to be the ideal signing. Robinson is likely to be tempted to move to Manchester City if they come forward with an official proposal at the end of the season.

It would be a major step up in his career, and he would get to play for a side capable of winning major trophies every season. In addition to that, working with a world-class coach like Pep Guardiola will only help him improve further and fulfil his potential.

Fulham have done quite well this season, and they are pushing to finish in the top half after securing promotion to the Premier League last term. They will not want to lose a key player at the end of the season. But they will be under pressure to sell the player if Robinson decides to force a move. It won’t be easy to turn down the opportunity to join a club like Manchester City.

The Premier League champions are well-placed to win the league title this season. So Robinson will fancy his chances of competing for the major trophies with them in the coming seasons. But Manchester City have several other left-backs on their radar, including Kieran Tierney.

Meanwhile, Robinson has a contract with the London club until the summer of 2024, and he is unlikely to cost a lot. Fulham will not want to lose the 25-year-old as a free agent next year. So it makes sense for them to cash in on him this summer.
