Liverpool have been linked with a move for Italian international midfielder Nicolo Barella at the end of the season.

Nicolo Barella has been a key player for Inter Milan and his performances have caught the attention of the Premier League giants. However, a report from FC Inter News claims that the midfielder has no intention of moving to England and he wants to continue at Inter Milan.

Liverpool are not prepared to give up on him regardless of that stance, and the Reds could look to test the midfielder and his club’s resolve with a super offer of around €85 million. Liverpool are in desperate need of central midfield reinforcements and Barella would be a quality long-term acquisition.

The 25-year-old has proven his quality in the Italian league and internationally with Italy. He will add some much-needed craft and technical ability in the middle of the park for Jurgen Klopp next season.

Liverpool are set to lose players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner in the summer. All three players will be free agents, and they will need to be replaced adequately.

Barella certainly has the quality to succeed in the Premier League, and the Reds must do everything in their power to convince him. Inter Milan are going through financial difficulties and they could be tempted to sell the central midfielder for a substantial offer.

The reported €85 million offer is likely to be a tempting proposition for the Italian club. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can turn the player’s head with a lucrative contract offer. Liverpool certainly have the finances to offer Barella more money than he earns at Inter Milan.

Furthermore, the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League could be an attractive proposition. The 25-year-old could still improve with coaching and experience. Playing under a world-class coach like Klopp will only help him develop and fulfil his world-class potential.

Barella could sort out the Liverpool midfield for the foreseeable future if the Reds manage to secure his services in the coming months.
