Barcelona and Real Madrid have reportedly offered bumper contracts to Liverpool veteran Roberto Firmino ahead of the summer.

According to a report by Football Insider, Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on signing Roberto Firmino. And the two clubs have proposed “huge” contracts to the Liverpool veteran. The Brazilian attacker will leave the Merseyside club as a free agent in the summer transfer window.

Roberto Firmino has been a dependable performer for Liverpool since arriving from Hoffenheim in July 2015. The 31-year-old has come leaps and bounds since then while being Jurgen Klopp’s go-to player in the final third. And his qualities brought the best out of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane during Liverpool’s peak under Klopp.

The Brazilian veteran has also enjoyed a solid 2022/23 season, amassing 11 goals and five assists in 33 appearances thus far. But Firmino’s stint with Liverpool will end in the summer when he will depart as a free agent. And such a situation has captured the attention of several clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Firmino has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. And the interest in the Liverpool veteran is understandable, considering Vitor Roque might not be within reach this summer. So with Robert Lewandowski the only striker in Barcelona’s first-team squad, Xavi Hernandez needed an alternative.
