Spanish giants Barcelona are interested in signing 31-year-old Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino ahead of next season.

According to a report by Football Insider, Barcelona are keen on signing Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino. The Spanish giants are looking to add more firepower to their attack and are looking to bring the 31-year-old to the club ahead of next season.

Firmino’s current contract at the Merseyside club ends in the summer. He has already informed the people at the club about his desire to leave them ahead of next season. The Brazil international is all set to be a free agent in a few months’ time. And a lot of clubs are interested in acquiring his services.

The 31-year-old joined Liverpool back in the summer of 2015 from TSG Hoffenheim. He has gone from strength to strength since joining the Reds. Firmino has won every possible silverware with the Merseyside club during his eight-year-long spell.

He has featured in over 350 matches for the Reds and has over 180 goal contributions to his name. Despite struggling with injuries in the ongoing season, the 31-year-old has still managed to score 10 goals and create five in his 27 outings. Firmino still has a few more years left in him and will be a great addition to any club that he decides to join.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are interested in the Brazilian striker. The Catalan giants are keeping an eye on Firmino who is all set to be a free agent. They are in a financial crisis and will not have much to spend in the summer. However, they still want to add more quality to their ranks.

Xavi’s team had a difficult time in Europe this season. Barcelona were knocked out of both the Champions League and the Europa League. Xavi will surely look to improve on that next season with an improved squad.

Firmino will be available for free and as a result, he looks like a great option. However, they will have to battle it out with multiple clubs to secure his services. The 31-year-old will surely have a lot of options to choose from in the summer.

Inter Milan are one of the clubs who are interested in the Brazilian striker. There are talks of a Suadi Arabian club interested in offering him a huge salary to move to the middle east. As a result, it will be interesting to see where Firmino ends up playing next season.
