Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of 23-year-old Chelsea forward Joao Felix ahead of next season.

According to SER Deportivos via AS, Newcastle United want to sign Joao Felix in the upcoming transfer window. The 23-year-old Portuguese forward is currently on loan at Chelsea and is likely to part ways with this parent club Atlético Madrid ahead of next season. And, the Magpies are keen on having him in their ranks.

Felix joined the Blues on loan in the winter transfer window of the ongoing season. The Portugal international was struggling to get going at his parent club and decided to go out on loan to revive himself. However, things have not gone according to plan as of now.

The 23-year-old was no longer a regular under Diego Simeone. The relationship between the manager and the player was not getting any better. As a result, he was sent out on loan. But, before he joined the Blues, Felix penned down a contract extension at the Spanish club. His existing contract with the Madrid-based club runs until the summer of 2027.

The club expected Felix to have a good loan spell at the London club in order for them to cash in on him. However, their plan seems to have backfired. They expected to raise around €100 million for the 23-year-old.

But, at this point in time, it seems they will have to settle for a price lower than that, and it is pretty much certain that the Blues will not be pushing to sign him on a permanent basis. He is most likely to return to his parent club in the summer and they will have to figure out his future in the upcoming window itself.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are interested in his services. The Magpies wanted to sign him even before he joined the Blues on loan and they are all set to push for him in the summer. Eddie Howe’s team have done wonders in the ongoing season. They are currently pushing for a Champions League spot. And, have already started planning for the summer.

The Magpies want to sign world-class players to take their team to the next level. And, they believe Felix could do wonders for them. The 23-year-old still has time to revive himself and he could be a great asset for them. Money is not really a problem for Newcastle. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to get this deal done ahead of next season.
