According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester United are interested in signing Matheus Nunes. The 24-year-old has been doing wonders in the centre of the park for Wolverhampton Wanderers. And, his performances have not gone unnoticed, with Bruno Fernandes also an admirer.

There are quite a few top clubs across Europe keen on having the Portugal international in their ranks. And, the Red Devils have also entered the race for his services. Nunes came through the ranks at Sporting CP and made a name for himself while playing for the Portuguese club. His performances resulted in a big-money move to Wolves.

The Premier League club paid a club-record fee of £38 million to sign him ahead of the ongoing season. The player signed a long-term deal with the Black Country outfit, penning a contract worth £85,000 per week.

He has been magnificent in the centre of the park for Wolves. The Portugal international has made 34 appearances and has four goal contributions to his name. Despite joining them ahead of the ongoing season, Nunes could be on the move in the summer given the amount of interest in his services.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are one of the clubs keen on having the Wolves midfielder in their ranks. Erik ten Hag has done wonders since arriving at the club. The Dutch manager has already won a trophy with United and he is still in contention for a few more.

However, Ten Hag is desperate to add more firepower to his ranks. The former Ajax manager wants to add a quality midfielder to his squad ahead of next season. He feels signing a central midfielder in the summer is a must in order for them to push for the Premier League title next season.

Meanwhile, the Dutch boss is a big admirer of Nunes. He is impressed by the 24-year-old’s heroics in the Premier League and wants him at the club. The £85,000 midfielder is a versatile player who can play in different positions, something that will help United’s cause.

Even Bruno Fernandes is a big admirer of the former Sporting CP midfielder. The Manchester United talisman hailed him as an incredible player after his move to Wolves. And, Bruno Fernandes  even revealed the fact that he had suggested Nunes to join him at Manchester United.

With Scott McTominay and on-loan star Marcel Sabitzer’s futures uncertain, it looks like a great move for Manchester United. However, it won’t be that easy a job given the fact that there are quite a few clubs, including Liverpool, keen on having the Portugal international at their disposal.
