Manchester City are hoping to sign Real Madrid, Manchester United target Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Jude Bellingham has been linked with clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid. But a report from The Sun claims that Manchester City are hoping to get the deal done.

Recently Liverpool cooled their interest in signing the Borussia Dortmund midfielder because of the asking price. Apparently, Bellingham could cost around £130 million this summer. Liverpool clearly do not have the financial resources to pay the kind of money for just one player.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are unlikely to fork out the kind of money for the midfielder either. It seems that Manchester City have a clear run at the player, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

Pep Guardiola might lose key midfielder Ilkay Gundogan at the end of the season. So Manchester City will have to replace the German international adequately. Bellingham would be a sensational acquisition, and the England international could even prove to be an upgrade on Gundogan.

The 19-year-old has already established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the world, and he has been a star for club and country over the past year. Bellingham has been hugely impressive in the Bundesliga, and he impressed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well.

Signing a player of his quality could sort out the Manchester City midfield for the foreseeable future. The youngster is also a target for Manchester United as Erik ten Hag seeks the ideal partner for Casemiro.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have the financial resources to pay the reported £130 million asking price. It remains to be seen whether they can convince the midfielder to join them in the coming months. There have been rumours that a player is keen on a move to Liverpool.

However, the Reds simply cannot afford him right now and Bellingham will be forced to make a decision on his future at the end of the season. He needs to join the club with a solid footballing project that will help him realise his world-class potential. Manchester City certainly have an exceptional squad at their disposal and they have one of the best managers in the world.

Pep Guardiola has improved a number of players throughout his managerial career, and he could help the England international reach the very top as well. But Manchester City will reportedly seek assurances from Bellingham before making a move. That might give Manchester United and Real Madrid a window of opportunity.
