Liverpool hold talks with representatives of Ryan Gravenberch

Liverpool have held talks with the representatives of Ryan Gravenberch as Jurgen Klopp eyes a new midfielder.

Reports from the German publication Bild suggest Liverpool have held talks with Ryan Gravenberch’s representatives. Jurgen Klopp eyes new midfield options and considers the €30 million-rated Bundesliga midfielder as an alternative to Jude Bellingham.

Following months of speculation and firm media reports linking Liverpool with a move for Jude Bellingham, things have changed dramatically. Jurgen Klopp remains a huge admirer of the Borussia Dortmund star and may have seriously considered approaching.

The England international always carried a huge asking price, and Dortmund will not have let him go on the cheap. Had it been around the €100 million mark, Liverpool might have considered, but the fee could reach the €150 million mark, thus resulting in the Reds cooling their interest in Bellingham.

Klopp recently hinted at the price point being problematic, which could lead them towards alternatives. Several names are mentioned, including Matheus Nunes and Joao Palhinha from Wolves and Fulham, respectively.

The way Liverpool have struggled in midfield, they might end up signing more than one midfielder. Considering what Bellingham would have cost, they could get two or even three stars in that price range. Now, reports from Germany suggest they have opened talks for Ryan Gravenberch.

The €30 million-rated Bundesliga midfielder continues to endure a difficult time at Bayern Munich. Thomas Tuchel’s side could consider reasonable offers and would want interested parties to at least pay his market value as a minimum.

That price point would suit Liverpool, and they could add Gravenberch to their stable of young, rising stars. Liverpool have held talks with his representatives in a bid to free him from Bayern, and the midfielder might show an interest in signing up.

He also has interest from other Premier League sides. But a move to Merseyside might tempt the €30 million-rated Bundesliga midfielder. Liverpool could use the talents of Gravenberch to develop him further and reap the rewards. For now, the report only speculates. But going by previous stories, the interest could be genuine. Nothing gets decided for now, and we will have to wait until the summer to get a clearer picture.
