Aston Villa are interested in acquiring the services of 21-year-old Barcelona attacker Ez Abde ahead of next season.

According to SPORT, Aston Villa are keen on having Ez Abde in their ranks. The 21-year-old has been doing wonders in the ongoing season, and a lot of clubs are interested in his services. Abde is currently on loan at CA Osasuna from FC Barcelona and is all set to return to his parent club in the summer.

The Moroccan international joined Barcelona back in the summer of 2021. He started off at their ‘B’ team and was promoted to their first team ahead of the ongoing season. However, Xavi wanted him to gain first-team experience, and he was sent out on loan to Osasuna.

The 21-year-old has done a great job in the current campaign. He has featured in 26 matches for the Spanish club and has seven goal contributions. His performances have attracted quite a lot of interest lately.

Abde’s contract at Barcelona runs until the summer of 2026. However, the club is all set to decide his future after the end of the season. The club wants him to be a part of their pre-season and they will make a decision regarding his future post that. The decision will be based on sporting as well as economic needs. Xavi has already talked about his future recently.

The Barcelona manager said: “He is making the most of his loan, he is making a difference and he is being professional. He has played very good games in Osasuna and the challenge is for Barça to always have this continuity. The level he showed yesterday with Osasuna is what he must always show because this is Barça. Here he must show his best level and have continuity. I insist that we will value him and decide what to do with him.”

Meanwhile, clubs from across Europe have already started preparing a proposal for the 21-year-old. His agent Javier Garrido recently had a meeting with Leeds United. They are interested in his services, but they will face competition from Villa who are also keen on having the Moroccan international in their ranks.

Aston Villa are better placed in the league while Leeds are fighting for survival. As a result, it might be easier for Villa to sign him. Unai Emery has done wonders since taking over at Villa. However, the Spanish boss feels the need to sign a new forward.

The left winger has been sensational in the current campaign and Emery believes he can bolster their attack as well as help them do well in the next season. While Villa are keen on having him in their ranks, it will depend on whether Barcelona want to keep him or not.
