Alexis Mac Allister could leave Brighton in the summer with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool making an approach.

Fabrizio Romano reckons Alexis Mac Allister could leave Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer. The Italian journalist understands that Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have made approaches to sign the Argentine World Cup winner. At the same time, Brighton will decide on the price tag in the coming period.

Brighton are currently considered one of the best-run clubs in world football for their immense eye for talent. Players like Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo and Kaoru Mitoma joined the club for meagre price tags and have developed into top stars.

Many of their players could fetch a considerable amount in the window, as Brighton would certainly do business for few in the summer. In the last few seasons, they have made considerable profit from sales of Ben White, Marc Cucurella and Leandro Trossard.

Caicedo, Mac Allister and Mitoma could become their next sales, with interest in the Argentine World Cup winner already peaking. Fabrizio Romano states Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea have already approached the player’s camp, and Brighton could soon decide on their asking price.

The 24-year-old World Cup winner was in high demand during January, but Brighton shut all doors and approaches from rival clubs. They famously rejected at least three bids for Caicedo, two from Arsenal and one from Chelsea. They also followed suit for Mac Allister.

While Mac Allister has proven his worth, the three mentioned Premier League sides could have known of his potential availability in the summer and made their approaches. Among those, Chelsea could look at a potential Argentine midfield partnership since they signed the 24-year-old World Cup winner’s teammate Enzo Fernandez in January.

However, their non-participation in the Champions League next season could hurt their chances, meaning Manchester United have the upper hand. The Red Devils are keen to land Mac Allister and Caicedo in the next window and are prepared to pay around £150 million in combined fees.

They could look to sign at least one, and considering what they immediately need to improve the squad, Mac Allister makes sense. However, they have intense competition from Liverpool, who did lead the chase at one stage.

Jurgen Klopp remains intent on revamping his midfield options during the summer window. Mac Allister remains a firm option, particularly after bowing out of the race for Jude Bellingham. The 24-year-old World Cup winner will become a priority for the German manager, who could urge the club to sign him.

With Mac Allister tied to Brighton for the long term, the Seagulls will certainly demand a significant sum. The trio above will not hesitate to pay a huge fee, but Liverpool will ensure they do not overpay. The other two could still invest, considering the value the 24-year-old World Cup winner brings.
