Harry Maguire is all set for decisive talks with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag about his future after the end of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, Manchester United will hold talks with their club captain Harry Maguire about his future after the end of the season. The Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is all set to discuss the future of the 30-year-old ahead of next season.

Maguire came into the limelight after his heroics for Leicester City. His impressive performances resulted in a transfer to Manchester United. The England international went from strength to strength while playing for the Manchester-based club.

He became an integral part of their first team and was eventually handed over the captain’s armband. However, things have changed a lot since the arrival of Erik ten Hag. While Maguire has retained the armband, he has only started six Premier League games all season long.

The 30-year-old has featured in 25 matches for United but he has been on the pitch for just over 1200 minutes. The majority of his appearances have come off the bench and the player is concerned about his future.

The arrival of Lisandro Martinez ahead of the ongoing season has seen him fall down the pecking order. The Dutch manager’s preferred partnership in the heart of defence has been Raphael Varane and Martinez. And, the duo has done a great job for his team. As a result, they are likely to remain his priority centre-back pairing.

Fabrizio Romano said: “Maguire has never created any problems – this is why he was not on the market in January. For the summer though, a lot will depend on what the player wants. As for now, Maguire is fully focused on the final part of the season and wants to win more trophies with Man United. He will speak to Ten Hag to decide his future at the end of the season.”

The England international has featured in 169 matches for the Red Devils. And, has 12 goal contributions during his time at the club. While his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2025, the centre-back is all set to hold talks with Ten Hag after the end of the season about his future at the club.

The 30-year-old is keen on having more game time. And, if the manager can’t promise him a bigger role at the club, Maguire could look to part ways ahead of next season. And, there are quite a few clubs interested in his services. Even his former club Leicester is looking to bring back the 30-year-old.
