According to Daily Mail, Brighton are interested in signing Reiss Nelson. The Seagulls are looking to add more firepower ahead of next season and have the 23-year-old on their radar. Nelson has done great in the limited opportunities that he has had and is on the radar of quite a few clubs across Europe.
Nelson has been a part of Arsenal since 2007. He has come up the ranks at the club and has been subject to multiple loan moves in order to gain first-team experience.
The 23-year-old was on loan at Feyenoord last season. And, his impressive performances forced Mikel Arteta to keep him in his first-team squad for the ongoing season.
While Arteta decided to keep the England Under-21 star in his ranks for the ongoing, he has given him limited opportunities. The Spanish manager has used him in the Premier League only in desperate situations and the winger hasn’t disappointed him. Nelson has three goals and two assists in his four Premier League outings.
Overall, he has been on the pitch for under 500 minutes which is a concern for the player. His contract at the club is all set to end in the summer. The club is keen on keeping him however, the player is having second thoughts and the idea of joining Brighton and being a first-team regular is making it difficult for him to decide.
The Seagulls are keen on acquiring the right-winger ahead of next season. Brighton are currently 7th in the league and have a great chance of qualifying for a European Cup competition next season. And, they will look to build on it next season.
In order to do so they want to bring in further reinforcements and Nelson is a player admired by the people at the club. As a result, they are trying their luck to lure the 23-year-old to their club.
And, with the player having second thoughts about staying at Arsenal, they do have a great chance of landing him ahead of next season. But, there are a few other clubs interested in him and they might make Brighton’s life difficult.
