Teenage sensation Harry Amass has reportedly snubbed interest from Chelsea to join Manchester United.

According to Football Transfers, Watford sensation Harry Amass has chosen to join Premier League giants Manchester United ahead of top division rivals Chelsea.

The 16-year-old is among the best players to come out of the Hornets’ academy in recent years and has attracted attention from several top-flight teams, including Manchester City. It was only a matter of time before he left Vicarage Road for greener pastures, and it would appear the time is now nigh.

The 16-year-old is now on his way to Old Trafford and be a part of Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils revolution. The Dutchman has ended the club’s long-awaited trophy drought, but there is still work to be done. With a solid foundation of developing young players while at Ajax, ten Hag can aid Amass in his evolution.

Ten Hag’s policy certainly appears to have played a role in the 16-year-old’s decision. He appears to be sold on the project being put at Old Trafford and could develop into a pivotal player for the Red Devils for years to come.

Luke Shaw is Manchester United’s first-choice left-back at the moment and is set to sign a new long-term deal at the club. If all goes according to plan, Amass should be ready by then to take over as the English international’s replacement in the full-back’s spot.

The Red Devils have been scouting the youngster for a while now and are well aware of his potential. It would certainly appear that their persistence has paid off. Chelsea, for their part, have missed out on a potentially excellent talent.

The club appear to lack direction despite lavish spending over the last two transfer windows and are currently drifting aimlessly in the bottom half of the Premier League standings. More so, Todd Boehly’s decision to bring in several players will add pressure on young players seeking to break through.

Given the current circumstances, Old Trafford represents a better option than Stamford Bridge for a youngster seeking to move up the ranks.  Amass will join up with his new teammates at the end of the current season.
