Inter Milan are ready to sell Nicolo Barella for €50 million, with Chelsea and Liverpool among those keen on the midfielder.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Chelsea and Liverpool could sign midfield target Nicolo Barella for €50 million in the summer. Inter Milan are ready to sell the 26-year-old Italian international after some reported problems with the player recently.

Nicolo Barella’s stock has remained stagnant this season at Inter Milan as performance levels have dipped considerably as the campaign progressed. While he has played a major role for the Nerazzurri, the club could entertain offers for around €50 million.

There were claims that Inter could demand €80 million for their 26-year-old Italian international. But that was when he was at the peak of his powers. Now, the midfielder’s situation seems to have changed, with suggestions of disagreements with players on and off the field.

Owing to the considerable financial troubles Inter find themselves in, selling key players could become a reality. The 26-year-old Italian international has a higher value in the current market, with the Nerazzurri ready to cash in for around €50 million.

The report has put Chelsea and Liverpool on high alert, with both Premier League giants seeking a top-draw midfielder in the next window. The Blues have been spending high on young players but now seek experienced heads to further their project.

Chelsea reportedly failed to approach Barella in January but could try again in the summer. They seek a notable name to add to the arrival of Enzo Fernandez in the winter window.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could also get on the act and approach Barella. Jurgen Klopp’s side have remained interested in the midfielder. But the previous price point would have been a problem. The €50 million asking price could appeal to the Merseysiders to try and sign the 26-year-old Italian international.

Inter Milan could use the funds to reinvest in their playing squad next summer. They will seek a considerable profit over their investment of over €32 million in Barella when he arrived from Cagliari in 2020. They might even reconsider their reported decision to sell him if Barella can improve his fortunes and show his worth to Simone Inzaghi.
