Tottenham are keen on bringing Ipswich Town’s 16-year-old defensive prodigy Calum Logan to bolster their academy ranks.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham have a firm interest in Ipswich Town’s Calum Logan. The 16-year-old defensive prodigy has impressed many clubs this season, with the north Londoners keen to bolster their academy ranks with the rising star.

There has been a lot of chatter about Tottenham for all the wrong reasons during this international break. Spurs managed to dominate this period in the media following the outburst from Antonio Conte and his subsequent sacking from the club.

Conte left an evolving situation at Spurs, which has taken the club backwards. Fans have been left baffled by their current standing, and there is less optimism about finishing in the top four despite having a fair chance to qualify for the Champions League.

However, the future seems different from their latest managerial news, with Julian Nagelsmann linked with a move. With that, Tottenham are also looking to recruit the right players for their first team and bolster the academy ranks.

They have already agreed on a pre-contract with Manchester City teenager Herbie James and continue to make moves in the market to secure young prodigies. Last summer, they brought Will Lankshear from Sheffield United. And now, they have set sights on Ipswich Town starlet Calum Logan.

The 16-year-old defensive prodigy continues to impress with Ipswich and has the attention of a few big Premier League clubs. Tottenham may make their interest count and look to agree on a deal early for the teenager. The idea is to bring players that improve their academy ranks and build for the future.

During their FA Youth Cup quarter-final run, the 16-year-old defensive prodigy has been a regular for Ipswich. While he was sent off in the eventual loss to West Ham United in the competition, his performances have ensured a call-up to the England Under-17 team.

Hence, the interest from teams like Spurs seems justified. And a move for the youngster would help with a promising career. Tottenham could look to wrap up a deal soon but also have sights on players in a similar age group who might be first-team ready.

They will keep tabs on Logan for the remainder of the season. Whether they agree on a move with Ipswich remains the question. But their knock will prove difficult for the lower league side to hold on to the 16-year-old defensive prodigy.
