Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Mason Mount has not been able to agree on a new contract with Chelsea. And there have been rumours that he could look to leave the club in the summer. A report from The Times claims that Bayern Munich are now keen on securing the services of the England international. And the Blues want at least £50 million for the midfielder.

The German club recently appointed Thomas Tuchel as their manager after sacking Julian Nagelsmann following some poor performances in the league. Tuchel has worked with Mount during his time as the Chelsea manager, and the 24-year-old was a key player for the German manager at Stamford Bridge.

Mount helped Tuchel win the UEFA Champions League title at Chelsea. So it is no surprise that the German is looking for a reunion at Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, despite his contract situation, the English midfielder is valued at £50 million.

Mount has been one of Chelsea’s best players over the last few seasons. And despite the dip in form this year, he remains an indispensable asset for the Blues. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are prepared to lose him at the end of the season. Apparently, Mount is holding out for a lucrative contract, and he wants Chelsea to offer him a deal that reflects his standing on the side.

Ideally, Chelsea should look to keep him at the club for as long as possible and offer him a lucrative package soon. The England international is one of the best midfielders in the league and is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. His departure would weaken the Chelsea midfield severely. So it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich could definitely use more craft and goals from the midfield. And the 24-year-old seems like a quality option. The Bundesliga champions also have the means to pay £50 million for his services.

Mount has shown his quality in the Premier League and the opportunity to succeed in the Bundesliga could be a tempting proposition for him. Furthermore, the 24-year-old excelled under Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.

So a reunion with the German manager could bring out the best in him once again. The player has been linked with Premier League giants Liverpool as well. But Chelsea will probably prefer to sell the player abroad instead of strengthening a direct rival.
