Manchester United are interested in signing 28-year-old Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic ahead of next season.
As repored by Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on having the services of Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Fulham striker has had an impressive season so far, and the Red Devils would love to add him to their ranks.
Mitrovic initially arrived at Fulham from Newcastle United back in the winter of 2018. He joined the Cottagers on a six-month-long loan before making a permanent switch in the summer. Mitrovic has done wonders at Fulham since joining. He has featured in a total of 202 matches for them and has 130 goal contributions to his name. Mitrovic has found the back of the net on 108 occasions and has 22 assists.
The 28-year-old has been in red-hot form in the ongoing season. He has found the back of the net on 11 occasions in his 21 Premier League outings. Fulham are currently 9th in the Premier League, and a lot of credit goes to their marksman Mitrovic.
His heroics in front of goal have attracted a lot of attention, and Manchester United are one of the club that could push for his signatures in the summer. Manchester United are in desperate need of a new number nine.
While Erik ten Hag has done a wonderful job since arriving in the summer, he is well aware of the fact that they need a new striker ahead of next season. The majority of Manchester United’s goal threat has come from Marcus Rashhford in the ongoing season. So ten Hag wants to add a new striker who can share the load with United’s number 10.
Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane are priority transfer targets for Manchester United. But, they are well aware of the fact that signing either striker will cost a fortune. As a result, the Red Devils are looking at low-cost alternatives.
They have identified Mitrovic as a great alternative. The 28-year-old’s arrival will add quite a few goals and a lot of strength up top. And, he could be used as a plan A or can even work as a rotation player under ten Hag. While Manchester United are interested in signing the 28-year-old striker, they are also looking at bringing in a young number nine.
