Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, a target for Manchester United.

According to a report from Football Transfers, Tottenham are hoping to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi at the end of the season. But they are unwilling to pay the reported asking price of £65 million. The player is also a target for Manchester United.

Apparently, the 22-year-old English defender is valued at £65 million. But Tottenham are only willing to fork out around £45 million for his services. Guehi is one of the most talented young defenders in the Premier League right now, and he has established himself as an important first-team player for the Eagles.

Crystal Palace are going through a difficult season, and talented young players like him could look to move on at the end of the season. The 22-year-old has certainly shown the ability to play for a top club. And the opportunity to join Tottenham is likely to be an attractive idea for the player.

Guehi will want to establish himself as a regular starter for club and country in the coming seasons. And he will feel that joining a big club and playing in the Champions League will boost his chances of doing so. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can secure a top-four finish at the end of the season.

The Londoners are going through a rough patch, and the future of Antonio Conte seems uncertain as well. It will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy decides to bring in a new manager and steady the ship in the coming weeks.

Spurs must look to secure Champions League qualification to attract top-class talents like Guehi. Furthermore, the absence of European football would be a devastating blow to their finances and they might not be able to attract a player valued at £65 million.

The former Chelsea defender is unlikely to have any shortage of suitors, with Manchester United also interested. The Red Devils might part ways with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire in the summer. So Guehi is a viable target for Manchester United.
