Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been linked with a move away from the Italian club at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Premier League clubs like Liverpool, and the French international has now revealed his admiration for the Premier League club while speaking to Tuttosport.

Rabiot has revealed that he has been a boyhood Liverpool fan and the former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was his idol. His revelations will certainly fuel speculations surrounding a potential move to Anfield at the end of the season.

“I loved Liverpool a lot because I was a bit fan of Steven Gerrard, who made me dream and so therefore I followed the Reds. My other idol was Zinedine Zidane”.

The 27-year-old will be a free agent in the summer and Juventus have not been able to agree on a contract extension with him. The French international has been an important player for Juventus since joining the club and he impressed with France at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well.

The World Cup finalist could prove to be a quality acquisition for Liverpool and it remains to be seen whether the Reds can convince him to join them on a free transfer. Liverpool are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements and Jurgen Klopp will have to replace players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita who are set to move on as free agents.

Signing a player like Rabiot on a free transfer could prove to be a masterstroke from Liverpool. It would allow them to invest their resources in the other areas of the squad. Liverpool are in need of major rebuilding if they want to challenge for major trophies once again and they should not pass up opportunities to sign bargains in the upcoming window.

Rabiot is unlikely to have any shortage of suitors, and a number of other European clubs are likely to be keen on him. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can fend off the competition and secure his signature in the coming months.

The 27-year-old will add passing, composure, and defensive cover to the Liverpool midfield if he joins the club in the summer. He will be looking to prove himself in the Premier League and this is the right time for him to take the next step in his career with a move to the Premier League.
