There are a few notable youngsters Liverpool are looking at from the neighbouring leagues of Ireland and Scotland. 15-year-old Irish attacking sensation Mason Melia has become the latest player they are keen on, with the St. Patrick’s Athletic stars earning rave reviews in recent months.

Melia became St. Patrick’s youngest-ever senior goalscorer after netting against Wexford in a Leinster Senior Cup game aged 15 years and 132 days. He broke the record of the previous holder Kian Corbally, who scored in the same competition in 2019.

The 15-year-old Irish attacking sensation also became St, Patrick’s youngest player to make a senior appearance. He is not the only player from Ireland Premier League clubs are looking at, with Arsenal and Manchester City tracking Celtic prodigy Rocco Vata.

Melia has the ingredients to become a notable future striker, and his qualities were evident while playing for St. Patrick’s. Liverpool have reportedly registered an interest in signing the 15-year-old Irish attacking sensation.

Liverpool may have to pay compensation to St. Patrick’s to acquire the player, although the Irish side would hope to keep him there. Interest from Premier League clubs will be a huge opportunity for a youngster like Melia, who may push to move in the summer.

For now, nothing has progressed with the chase. Liverpool could launch an enquiry in the coming months and may keep watching the player until then. It would be a big loss for St. Patrick’s to allow a promising player like Melia to depart.
