Juventus might sell Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window, thus handing a boost to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb, Juventus will consider selling Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window to balance the books. The Italian winger, whose market value is €60 million, is a target for Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Federico Chiesa has long been one of the best players in Serie A. He first made his name as a talismanic figure for Fiorentina, where he spent most of his formative years. And the 25-year-old has stepped up his performance levels considerably since joining Juventus in October 2020.
The Italian winger spent two seasons on loan at the Allianz Stadium before Juventus signed him permanently last summer. And Chiesa has done well to overcome a long-term injury, chipping in with two goals and four assists in 17 appearances. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has captured the attention of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Barcelona might part ways with at least one of Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres in the summer transfer window. In addition, they are yet to seal an agreement over a new deal with Ousmane Dembele, whose current contract ends in less than 18 months. And after selling Memphis Depay in January, Barcelona’s wide-attacking stock is already depleted.
So the Catalan giants need to invest in at least one winger in the summer transfer window. And Chiesa has emerged as a viable target for the Blaugrana. But Barcelona will face stiff competition from bitter rival Real Madrid in the race to sign the Italian winger, whose market value is €60 million.
The 25-year-old has been on Real Madrid’s radar for some time. And with Marco Asensio in the final months of his contract, Los Blancos might need a replacement. Chiesa is thus an option worth considering for Real Madrid. And the reigning La Liga champions are in a strong position to shell out close to €60 million.
It is unclear how much Juventus will demand to part ways with the Italian winger. But considering Chiesa’s contract ends on June 30, 2025, the Bianconeri might ask for over €60 million. And that might leave Barcelona in a spot of bother in the head-to-head battle with Real Madrid.
