Juventus ready to offer swap deal to sign Franck Kessie

Juventus will reportedly offer Denis Zakaria, currently on loan at Chelsea, in a swap deal to sign 26-year-old Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.

According to a report by Calciomercatoweb, Juventus will look to sign Franck Kessie in the summer transfer window. And the Serie A giants are ready to offer Denis Zakaria in a swap deal for the 26-year-old Barcelona midfielder. The Swiss international is currently on loan at Premier League club Chelsea.

Denis Zakaria has seen his progress stuttering since encountering some long-term fitness issues at Borussia Monchengladbach. The 26-year-old was a highly-rated midfielder at the Bundesliga club before joining Juventus. But his long-term future has been uncertain, especially considering the Bianconeri loaned him to Chelsea last summer.

Zakaria has made gradual progress at Chelsea, producing a few impressive performances. But he remains a backup option for Graham Potter, and Chelsea will unlikely sign him permanently in the summer. So the Swiss midfielder’s long-term future remains uncertain, with his career heading nowhere. However, Juventus might use him as a makeweight to sign a player from Barcelona.

Franck Kessie is the subject of interest from Juventus, with the 26-year-old facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou. The Ivory Coast international has struggled to stamp his authority since joining Barcelona in a Bosman move last summer. And recent reports have linked him with several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea. But Juventus will also look to sign him.

The Ivory Coast international is behind Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Gavi in the pecking order. As a result, he has started only ten games across all competitions this season. And Kessie might benefit from returning to Serie A, with Barcelona getting a decent deal by landing Zakaria in the swap arrangement.

The 26-year-old might have seen his progress slow down due to fitness issues, but he remains a decent midfielder. And having Zakaria as a backup option without paying anything should serve Barcelona well. With Chelsea uninterested in signing the Swiss international permanently, Barcelona might have a clear run.

But recent reports have claimed that the Catalan giants are not ready to entertain offers for Kessie. So it will be interesting to see if a summer swap deal involving Kessie and Zakaria materialises. For now, Juventus will look to engineer such an arrangement in the coming months.
