Barcelona set to make move for Alberto Moleiro

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old UD Las Palmas attacking midfielder Alberto Moleiro ahead of next season.

According to a report by Fichajes, Barcelona are keen on securing the services of Alberto Moleiro. The 19-year-old has been putting in impressive performances in the Spanish second tier. And, his performances have attracted the attention of the Catalan giants who are gearing up to push for him in the summer.

Moleiro has been on the radar of the Catalan giants for over a year now. And, they are willing to finally push for the teenage sensation ahead of next season. The 19-year-old joined the UD Las Palmas academy back in the summer of 2018.

He started off with their Under-16 team and has gone up the ranks to become an integral part of their first team. The Spain Under-21 star was promoted to their first team ahead of the 2021/22 season. Moleiro has made a total of 70 appearances for their senior team and has 12 goal contributions to his name.

As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the 19-year-old has eight assists in 32 outings. The Spain Under-21 star’s contract at the club ends in the summer of 2026. However, he is expected to part ways with his childhood club in the summer, given the amount of interest in his services from top European clubs.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are keen on having Moleiro in their ranks. Xavi wants to add more quality to his squad ahead of next season. And, they believe it is the right time to push for the UD Las Palmas midfielder, who has been on their radar for over a year now.

The 19-year-old is a versatile player who can feature in multiple positions. Moleiro can start on either wing and can even feature as a number nine if needed. He is highly rated by Barcelona’s manager and the club are ready to bid for him.

The Catalan giants are looking to make a straightforward €10 million initial offer for the teenage midfielder. The deal will include a lot of variables, which will eventually increase the transfer fee. This will allow Barcelona some hope of signing him despite their financial crisis. And, this kind of proposal is also highly valued by the Canarian team.

However, it won’t be that easy a task for the Catalan giants to get his signatures given the amount of interest in his services. Even Manchester City have kept an eye on the teenager for a while. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Xavi’s team managed to land him.
