Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old Spanish prodigy Alberto Moleiro at the end of the season.

According to a report from Futbol Total, Barcelona are keen on signing Alberto Moleiro. Jordi Cruyff met with the president of Las Palmas, Miguel Angel Ramirez last week in order to discuss a potential transfer at the end of the season.

Alberto Moleiro is regarded as one of the most talented young players in Spanish football right now. And the 19-year-old has been outstanding for Las Palmas in the second tier. He has been linked with Aston Villa as well.

The highly-rated attacking midfielder has eight assists across all competitions, and he could prove to be a quality long-term investment for Barcelona. Moleiro can operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. His versatility will be a major bonus for Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez.

The 19-year-old has a contract with Las Palmas until the summer of 2026. And it remains to be seen whether Barcelona can convince the Spanish club to accept a reasonable fee for his services. Barcelona could certainly use more creativity and depth on their side, and the Spanish prodigy would be a superb addition.

The opportunity to play for a big club like Barcelona is likely to be an attractive proposition for the young midfielder. And he is likely to be tempted to join them. Playing alongside better players at the Catalan club will only accelerate Moleiro’s development and help him fulfil his top-class potential.

However, the 19-year-old needs to play regularly at this stage of his career to continue his development. And it remains to be seen whether Barcelona are prepared to provide him with that opportunity. The 19-year-old cannot afford to sit on the Barcelona bench as it would affect his development negatively.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months. The player has a long-term contract with Las Palmas, and the second-tier outfit are under no pressure to cash in on him just yet. For now, Barcelona have opened talks to sign the Spanish prodigy.

Las Palmas could look to demand a premium for his services, and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona are prepared to pay up. The Blaugrana have financial problems of their own they cannot afford to pay over the odds.
