Newcastle United could offer Alexander Isak in a part-exchange deal for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who could leave Turin.
According to Calciomercatoweb, Newcastle United are pondering on a part-exchange deal with Juventus for Dusan Vlahovic. The Magpies could offer €70 million summer signing Alexander Isak for the Serbian striker in the summer. Vlahovic might look to leave the Serie A giants as things are not going to plan.
Dusan Vlahovic’s time at Juventus has not gone to plan. The Serb once described the move to the Turin giants as a dream after snubbing Arsenal in January 2022. But he could find himself looking at new options just a year since that protracted transfer.
Vlahovic has somewhat fallen out of Juventus’s plans in recent times, and the Serie A club could look to cash in on the striker. They will demand a significant fee from suitors, as they will want to make a decent profit on their big investment.
A host of clubs remain keen on Vlahovic if Juventus decide to sell. Chief among those are big Premier League sides, including Newcastle United. Eddie Howe will certainly look to bolster his attacking options in the summer and possibly revamp his front line.
The Newcastle United boss knows the sizeable funds needed, and reports suggest the Magpies could offer €90 million for Vlahovic. While their interest has not become concrete, they have kept tabs on his situation. Moreover, the chances of luring the striker could increase if they achieve a top-four finish.
Juventus are in danger of finishing outside of the Champions League places. Moreover, their financial troubles could force them to sell some prized assets such as Vlahovic. There is also reported interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in the youngster, meaning they could attract attractive proposals in the summer.
Newcastle United could strategise their chase of the Serb by offering €70 million summer signing Alexander Isak in the deal. The report suggests they might have thought about a straight swap. But the Serie A giants could value the striker higher than the Magpies paid for the Swede.
Hence, the possibility of including Isak plus cash for Vlahovic could materialise. However, the Swede’s recent form suggests he might have put his injury troubles since joining the club behind and could play a significant role in the long term.
Isak continues to be considered a huge talent, and Newcastle’s price suggests he could be here for the longer term. Yet, they might sense an opportunity if the striker wishes to depart St. James’ Park. And it would play in their favour if he remains open to signing for Juventus.
