Manchester United may have to lodge a ‘crazy’ offer to lure Randal Kolo Muani in the summer from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that it would take a ‘crazy’ bid from Manchester United to sign Randal Kolo Muani. The journalist has suggested the talks of a transfer for the striker could be premature in March but reckoned things could change after the season.

Randal Kolo Muani found the right exposure with his performances for France at the World Cup. The striker was mostly used as a substitute but made the necessary impact to fall on the radars of many top clubs during the January window.

Despite wild suggestions that Eintracht Frankfurt could entertain offers in the previous window, the Bundesliga outfit wanted to keep hold of the forward. Kolo Muani has 30 goal contributions during the current campaign and will have been disappointed to miss out on Frankfurt’s crucial clash with Napoli in the Champions League.

There is a certainty he will receive many offers in the next window, with Manchester United understandably keen. Erik ten Hag wants a new leading forward in his team next season. The Dutch manager wants to revamp the forward line and dispose of with Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial.

They were reportedly watching Kolo Muani during the January window before agreeing on a loan move for Weghorst. The Frenchman remains on their radar and could become a contingent option if Manchester United cannot sign some of their preferred targets.

Manchester United would prefer to sign Harry Kane on priority, but Tottenham are not interested in selling him. They could try for the England captain but will not enter into a transfer saga, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy considering the Red Devils are the only realistic suitor.

They are also interested in Victor Osimhen, but there are plenty of complications in achieving the Napoli star. Hence, there is visible interest in Kolo Muani. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, it will take a ‘crazy’ bid from Manchester United to sign Muani.

Romano said, “There are many clubs appreciating Kolo Muani, he’s fantastic player. I’m not aware of Manchester United bids at this stage; there are many links; one day is Harry Kane, one day Victor Osimhen, one day Dusan Vlahovic, one day Kolo Muani, one day Goncalo Ramos.”

“It will take time, and March is not the time to submit proposals. For sure, Eintracht would only sell Randal in case of “crazy” bid, not for normal proposals.”

Eintracht Frankfurt would surely entertain a mammoth offer. But whether it comes from Manchester United remains the question. For now, the Red Devils will focus their efforts on priority targets and then possibly move on to names like Kolo Muani as an alternative.
