Meanwhile, Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on having the 19-year-old in their ranks. Both the club have been scouting him. And, they like what they have seen from the teenage sensational.

The Merseyside club are looking for a potential partner for Virgil van Dijk. Jurgen Klopp is keen on signing a centre-back in the summer. While he admires Silva, the Portugal international might not be ready for the Premier League yet. However, they could still invest in him knowing that he has a great future ahead of him.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag who has done a great job at the club is also looking to add a defender to his ranks. With Harry Maguire’s future at the club uncertain, it does make sense for him to push for a centre-back. And, signing Silva can surely help their cause. The Benfica centre-back has the potential to eventually become a regular in the team.

However, it won’t be easy for either of the clubs to sign Silva. The Portuguese club will be in no hurry to sell him. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027. And, there is a €100 million release clause in his contract which gives Benfica the confidence that they are likely to have the 19-year-old in their ranks for another season at least. Unless someone is willing to break the bank for the teenager.
