Ligue 1 champions PSG are reportedly still keen on signing Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, whose market value is €60 million.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Ousmane Dembele is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Les Parisiens will enter the market for several top players to keep Kylian Mbappe happy. And the Barcelona winger, whose market value is €60 million, is one of the foremost targets for PSG.
Ousmane Dembele will look back at his Barcelona stint thus far with the thought process of unfulfilled potential. The French international arrived at Camp Nou as a long-term successor to Neymar. But injuries and attitude issues stunted his progress in the first few years of his spell with Barcelona.
However, Dembele has gone from strength to strength under the tutelage of Xavi Hernandez, becoming a talismanic figure. And his market value has been rising again, now standing at €60 million. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has eight goals and seven assists in 25 appearances thus far this season.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is currently recovering from a hamstring injury. But he remains in Xavi’s long-term plans, and Barcelona will look to tie him to a new long-term contract. In the meantime, the French winger has popped up on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain.
The French giants hold a long-standing interest in the Barcelona attacker. And they have made previous attempts to secure Dembele’s services. But various factors meant PSG could not land the player. However, they remain keen on signing him amid concerns surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s long-term future.
The French international has insisted that he is happy at Parc des Princes. But widespread reports have suggested that PSG’s inability to win the UEFA Champions League has left Mbappe dissatisfied. And PSG will look to sign several top players in the summer to keep hold of the 24-year-old. Some of these players include Bernardo Silva and Milan Skriniar. And Dembele is also a viable target.
Meanwhile, Mbappe’s situation has alerted several Premier League clubs and Real Madrid. As for Dembele, his market value of €60 million will unlikely deter PSG. But Barcelona will unlikely entertain offers for the French winger. However, Dembele’s stance will also be interesting to see.
