Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Portuguese attacker Diogo Jota, valued at €70 million by Liverpool.

According to Jacque Talbot, Newcastle United are eyeing up a summer move for Portuguese international Diogo Jota. Liverpool will demand around €70 million to part ways with the player at the end of the season.

Jota recently renewed his contract with Liverpool, and he has been an important first-team player since joining the club from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 26-year-old is a proven performer in the Premier League. So it is no surprise that Newcastle United are looking to sign him.

The Magpies will need to add more goals to their game and Jota could prove to be a quality acquisition. The Portuguese international can play anywhere across the front three, and his versatility will be an added bonus for Newcastle.

Liverpool reportedly value the attacker at €70 million, and it remains to be seen whether Newcastle United are prepared to pay big money for him. The player has a contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2027. So it is hardly surprising that the Reds are demanding a premium for his services.

It has been a difficult season for Jota, and he has had his fair share of injury problems. The 26-year-old has played just 14 games for Liverpool across all competitions, and he has six assists to his name. He is yet to find the back of the net this season.

Prior to this season, he was a reliable goalscorer for Liverpool, and he could transform Newcastle United in the final third. Apart from his creative and goalscoring ability, the 26-year-old is a hardworking player who will add a cutting edge to the Newcastle attack with his relentless pressing ability.

Liverpool are well-stocked in the attacking department, and it would be no surprise if they decided to cash in on the 26-year-old attacker. The Reds need to strengthen the other areas of their squad, and they will have to bring in a number of players in the midfield.

They have been linked with players like Jude Bellingham, and the Reds will need to recoup a significant amount of money from sales in order to buy players like him. Selling Jota will certainly boost Liverpool’s transfer budget and help them pull off some important signings, especially if they recoup €70 million from his sale.
