European giants Inter Milan will reportedly prioritise signing Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Franck Kessie is the priority target for Inter Milan heading into the summer transfer window. And the Barcelona midfielder, whose market value has dropped to €35 million, is keen on joining the European giants.

Franck Kessie has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Barcelona in a Bosman move last summer. The 26-year-old arrived at Spotify Camp Nou after a fantastic stint with AC Milan, where he spent five years. But he was not an overnight success at FC Barcelona, as Xavi Hernandez viewed him as a backup option.

However, the Ivory Coast international has risen in stature in the last few weeks amid Pedri and Sergio Busquets’s fitness troubles. And he has two goals and three assists in 29 appearances thus far for Barcelona. But despite Kessie’s upturn in fortunes, his future remains uncertain, with Inter Milan keen on signing him.

Inter Milan first showed interest in the former AC Milan talisman ahead of the January transfer window. But neither Barcelona nor Kessie was ready to part ways midway through the season. So a move never materialised. However, the Serie A giants remain keen on securing the services of the Ivorian midfielder, whose market value has dropped to €35 million.

Recent reports also suggested that the 26-year-old has been considering joining Inter Milan. And the report claims that he is keen on moving to San Siro, albeit to represent the Nerazzurri. In addition, the Euro giants will prioritise securing Kessie’s services in the summer transfer window.

The interest from Inter Milan is hardly surprising, considering Marcelo Brozovic and Hakan Calhanoglu are well into their thirties. In addition, Brozovic and Nicolo Barella are popular figures in the market. So signing the Barcelona midfielder makes a world of sense, as he is already accustomed to the demands of Serie A.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will likely demand much higher than Kessie’s €35 million if they sell him. But recent reports have claimed that the Blaugrana will not entertain any bids for the 26-year-old in the summer. So it will be interesting to see if a move sees the light of day.
