Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are ahead of Real Madrid in the race to sign Jude Bellingham from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

German journalist Patrick Berger has told Redmen TV that Jude Bellingham wants to join Liverpool. The Reds are the front-runners to secure the services of the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund prodigy. Real Madrid will also look to sign the teenage sensation from the Bundesliga club in the summer transfer window.

Jude Bellingham has become one of the most highly sought-after players in the market since joining Borussia Dortmund. The English wonderkid was already a hot property during his days at Birmingham City. And his stock has skyrocketed after becoming one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old is enjoying a solid 2022/23 campaign, amassing ten goals and six assists in 30 appearances. And Borussia Dortmund will find it hard to keep hold of the player beyond the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Bellingham’s progress has captured the attention of Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will look to identify the successors to Luka Modric and Toni Kroos imminently. And Bellingham has emerged as a top target for Los Blancos. The 19-year-old can be a long-term midfield solution for Real Madrid. And recent reports have claimed that they held talks with his entourage over a summer move.

Meanwhile, there have been suggestions that Bellingham is leaning towards joining Real Madrid. But the reigning La Liga champions are not the only club keen on signing the English prodigy. That is because Liverpool will also look to prise him away from the Bundesliga club in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano recently insisted that Bellingham is a top target for Liverpool. And according to Patrick Berger, Bellingham is prioritising joining Liverpool this coming summer. That is surprising, considering the Reds are struggling to compete for a top-four spot. But they remain in the pole position to sign the 19-year-old.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund will attempt to tie the English international to a long-term contract. But Bellingham’s future at the Bundesliga club remains uncertain. And it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can beat Real Madrid to his signature.
