Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, a target for Barcelona.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham will face competition from Spanish giants Barcelona to sign 30-year-old Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic from Serie A club Inter Milan.

The Croatian international has been linked with a move away from Inter Milan in recent months. And it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can agree on a deal with the Serie A giants. Brozovic recently signed an extension with the Italian outfit, and they will look to demand a substantial fee for his services.

The 30-year-old has proven himself to be an important player for his club and country in recent years. And he could prove to be a superb acquisition for Tottenham. Furthermore, the 30-year-old has played under Antonio Conte during the Italian manager’s time at Inter Milan. And he should be able to fit into his system at Tottenham easily.

Brozovic has the quality and the experience to thrive in the Premier League. And he could be an important member of the side in the coming seasons. Meanwhile, Barcelona will have to find a replacement for Sergio Busquets. And the experienced Inter Milan midfielder has emerged as a viable target.

Brozovic has already proven his quality in Italian football and might be keen on trying out a new challenge now. The opportunity to join clubs like Barcelona and Tottenham will certainly be an attractive option for him.

Barcelona are undoubtedly a bigger club with a more attractive project. But the presence of Conte at Tottenham could give the Premier League club an edge in the transfer rates. Brozovic is at the peak of his career and will feel that he is ready to take up a new challenge now. The opportunity to test himself in a prestigious competition like the Premier League could be a tempting proposition.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months. Inter Milan are going through financial difficulties and they could look to cash in on the 30-year-old midfielder if the right offer is presented in the summer.
