Liverpool are ready to sell their star forward Mohamed Salah ahead of next season with Jurgen Klopp looking to revamp the club.
According to a report by Fichajes, Mohamed Salah is all set to leave Liverpool after the end of the season. The Merseyside club are struggling in the ongoing season. And, their manager is keen on changing things and reviving the club.
Liverpool are currently 7th in the Premier League. It has been a poor season for them. They are expected to challenge for all silverware but things haven’t gone according to plan.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have suffered and they are keen to return to the top. The club will have to initiate a few big transfer deals in the near future as they look to bounce back. The fans might have to see the departure of star player Salah.
The Egypt international’s contract at the club ends in the summer of 2025. But, he might be on his way out ahead of next season. The 30-year-old arrived at the club back in 2017 from AS Roma. Ever since his arrival, he has been a key player.
Salah has gone from strength to strength at the Merseyside club. He has had incredible success at Liverpool. The former Roma forward has made over 250 appearances for Klopp’s team. He has found the back of the net on 175 occasions and has 72 assists to his name.
But, he hasn’t been the same of late. Salah’s numbers in front of the goal are still decent with 28 goal contributions in 35 matches. But, the impact hasn’t been the same.
Ever since Sadio Mané’s departure, Salah was expected to be the leader of the attack. But, he has failed to live up to the expectations. Jurgen Klopp has already prepared the next generation of forwards for the club having signed Cody Gakpo, Luis Díaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Núñez in the past few windows.
And, with Liverpool likely to miss out on Champions League football for next season. The 30-year-old’s departure looks like a real possibility.
As per the report, Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the Egypt international. The French club might be an ideal destination for Salah who wants to continue in the UEFA Champions League. PSG are willing to pay around €80 million to land the Liverpool star at the club.
His departure will raise a significant amount for the Merseyside club and it will help them in their pursuit of Jude Bellingham. While the possibility of Salah’s departure are really high, it still won’t be that easy a decision for all parties involved.
