Premier League giants Liverpool are interested in signing 20-year-old midfielder Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer.
According to Sport 1 journalist Kerry Hau via Sport Witness, Liverpool are keen on signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich ahead of next season. With the Reds struggling in the ongoing season, they will look to sign quite a few players in the upcoming transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp will look to sign the right players to help the Merseyside club bounce back to their usual standards. 20-year-old midfielder Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich is a part of his transfer target list.
Gravenberch has been a part of Bayern Munich since joining them from Ajax ahead of the ongoing season. The 20-year-old joined the Ajax youth academy back in 2010. He has come up through the ranks at the Dutch club before making a move to the German giants.
In the ongoing season, he has made 22 appearances for Bayern and has two goal contributions. While he might have featured in 22 games, in reality, he has only been on the pitch for just over 600 minutes. The Dutch international is a class player who is looking to get more game time in the upcoming seasons.
Kerry Hau said, “Liverpool are interested. They want to rejuvenate their midfield in the summer and can well imagine getting two new eights – another player in addition to the desired player Jude Bellingham.”
“His name has been mentioned more often by those responsible, (there is no concrete interest yet) but the situation is being examined and they have already contacted Gravenberch’s people to ask about him, what type of person he is.”
Liverpool are currently eighth in the league with 35 points out of their 22 matches. They have been well below their usual standards and a majority of it is because of their midfield struggles.
The Merseyside club have had injuries to crucial players at important junctures in the season. And, quite a few of their stars haven’t produced the goods they once did. They are in desperate need of reinforcement.
The Reds will look to revamp their midfield ahead of the upcoming season. They are interested in bringing Jude Bellingham to the club. And along with him they want to sign the 20-year-old Dutch international. His arrival will bring fresh air to the midfield and most importantly it will give Jurgen Klopp options to work with.
However, Bayern Munich are not really interested in selling the 20-year-old. They are very keen on keeping him at the club for the next season. While Liverpool will push for his signature in the summer. It will be interesting to see if they can manage to persuade Bayern to sell one of their brightest stars.
