Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson at the end of the season.

According to a report from football.london, Tottenham are eyeing up a number of replacements for Hugo Lloris. And 25-year-old Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has popped up on their radar.

Dean Henderson is currently on loan at Premier League club Nottingham Forest. And he is set to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season. The 25-year-old is unlikely to get regular game time at Manchester United next season and should look to leave Old Trafford permanently.

Henderson needs to play regularly in order to continue his development and fulfil his potential. The English shot-stopper has previously been on loan at Sheffield United, and he was highly impressive for them.

The 25-year-old has the quality to develop into a top-class Premier League goalkeeper, and he could be the ideal long-term replacement for Lloris at Tottenham. Henderson has a contract at Manchester United until the summer of 2025. And it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can agree on a reasonable fee with the Red Devils for his services.

Club legend Hugo Lloris has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2024. But he has regressed massively over the past year, with his error-prone performances costing valuable points. Tottenham cannot afford to start him every week and will need to bring in a replacement if they want to challenge for major trophies.

Henderson will be determined to prove himself at a big club. And the opportunity to join Tottenham could be the ideal next step in his career. The 25-year-old is likely to develop with regular football at the London club and a world-class coach like Antonio Conte will only help him improve further.

Manchester United currently have David de Gea as their first-choice keeper. And they have been linked with a number of other shot stoppers in recent months. It does not seem like Henderson is a part of Erik ten Hag’s first-team plans next season and therefore it would be ideal for the two parties to part ways amicably. Meanwhile, Tottenham have shown interest in other goalkeepers, including Illan Meslier.
