Mason Mount has been linked with a summer move away from Chelsea, with Atletico Madrid interested in signing him.
A report from Fichajes claims that La Liga Atletico Madrid are keen on signing Mason Mount. The 24-year-old has a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2024, and the two parties have now stopped contract negotiations.
Apparently, Mount is not interested in continuing at Stamford Bridge. And La Liga giants Atletico Madrid will try and convince the England international to move to Spain. The Englishman has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs as well. And it remains to be seen where he ends up.
Apparently, the Chelsea midfielder has a market value of €75 million. And it remains to be seen whether Atletico Madrid can pay that kind of money to secure his services. The 24-year-old midfielder is certainly a top-quality player and hecould improve Atletico Madrid in the middle of the park.
He will add some much-needed goals and creativity to Diego Simeone’s side. However, the potential asking price, keeping in mind the €75 million market value, might be unaffordable for the Spanish club to sign him.
Alternatively, the two clubs might look to use him in a deal to sign Joao Felix. The 23-year-old Atletico Madrid forward is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge. And Chelsea are reportedly keen to sign the player permanently.
Apparently, Chelsea are ready to offer around €100 million to sign the Portuguese attacker. The two clubs could look to work out a deal that benefits them both. Mount has been Chelsea’s best player in the last two seasons. And his departure will certainly come as a blow for the Blues.
Chelsea will have to bring in multiple midfield reinforcements to fill the void left by the likes of Mason Mount and Jorginho, who left the club in January. The Blues are reportedly hoping to agree on a new deal with N’Golo Kante now.
Chelsea signed Enzo Fernandez for a club-record fee during the January window. And they will have to spend big money on a number of midfield reinforcements in the summer as well.
