Tottenham are yet to make a firm decision on the future of Harry Kane, as they would prefer to sell him abroad than to any English rivals.
According to Fichajes, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will have a major summer decision on his hand over Harry Kane. The striker will have a year left on his deal in June, with many Premier League sides likely to show an interest in signing the frontman.
Harry Kane will become the hot subject of the summer as many clubs are expected to show an interest in signing him. The Tottenham star only became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer last weekend. His first-half strike against Manchester City took his tally to 267, one more than Jimmy Greaves’ record.
Daniel Levy has thwarted the efforts of rival Premier League sides for many years and kept hold of Kane. He believed the striker was integral to the team and never entertained any approaches. Man City came close in the summer of 2021, but the Spurs supremo refused to cave in.
Manchester United are keen on Kane in the summer, as the next window represents a great opportunity for clubs to sign him. The 29-year-old enters the final year of his deal at Tottenham, as Levy will have to decide his future.
Previous reports insisted Tottenham could offer Kane a new deal and that the striker was open to extending his stay. Yet, nothing has been produced in front of the forward, which adds to the speculation regarding his long-term future. For now, they may not sell the forward and look to keep him at all costs, even if the forward departed on a free transfer in 2024.
Levy would reportedly like to sell the striker to clubs outside of England. Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are reportedly keen alongside Bayern Munich, who have made their interest known for quite some time. Those clubs from abroad may also have an economic discount from Levy compared to what he might demand from English rivals.
However, much will depend on Kane and his decision in the future. In 2021, things were out of his hands as he had three years to run on his Spurs contract. In the summer, things will be much different, and the 29-year-old Premier League star could choose from various options and possibly take his career into the next phase.
A lack of trophies has bothered Kane over the years. He has reiterated a dream to win honours, something he has not achieved with Tottenham so far. Hence, the lure of a club like Manchester City, Real Madrid, or Bayern Munich could appeal to the 29-year-old Premier League star.
Yet, after breaking the club record for goals, Kane will have his sights set on Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record. Hence, it’s difficult to see him sign for an overseas club. He might stay put at Tottenham or move to a top-four side in the coming period, although one might rule out Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man City from the chase altogether.
