Tottenham chairman Daniel levy could demand at least £100 million from Manchester United and other suitors for Harry Kane.

According to Daily Telegraph, Manchester United may have to fork out at least £100 million to sign Harry Kane in the summer. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a notorious negotiator and will not let his star striker leave on the cheap despite having a year left on his deal in June.

Manchester United continue to draw up plans to sign a top-rated centre-forward in the summer. Erik ten Hag wants a level-headed solution to the No.9 position and will seek an option that drastically improves the team for next season.

The club face a dilemma with their choices for the centre-forward role. On the one hand, they are reportedly interested in Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian could represent a long-term option, but Erik ten Hag reportedly has concerns about his injury history.

On the other hand, there is the reported interest in Harry Kane. The Tottenham star is 29 and will enter the final year of his deal in the summer. The pursuit of these strikers is reminiscent of Sir Alex Ferguson’s choices in 2012. Back then, the legendary manager decided to sign Robin van Persie instead of Robert Lewandowski.

The former had a massive first season, helping Manchester United win the Premier League. Kane will represent a similar choice for ten Hag in his pursuit of creating a team capable of challenging at the very top. If they want to sign him, the Red Devils need a £100 million outlay on the top striker target.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a notorious negotiator when it comes to transfers. He has brought out the best deals for the club in the past and will not step back about Kane. Despite the striker set to enter the final year of his contract, he might remain open to signing a new deal in north London.

If that happens, then Manchester United may have to target other players on their list. If Levy feels an extension is out of the question, he will prefer to sell Kane to an overseas club, with Bayern Munich, as the likely suitor. For English rivals, he will demand at least £100 million to sell.

The price point may not prove problematic for Manchester United, but much will depend on Ten Hag’s long-term planning. Kane certainly guarantees goals in the side and could even unlock the potential of young stars in the team. His age makes him only a short to a mid-term option, while Osimhen brings long-term prospects to the club.

The summer window is already shaping up nicely, as Manchester United will have key decisions to make. Apart from a striker, the club are also expected to sign a midfielder and possibly a new centre-back. Kane or Osimhen, the Red Devils aims at bringing a top-draw centre-forward to lead the line next summer.
