According to Kicker via SportWitness, SC Paderborn chief Benjamin Weber is keen on keeping 19-year-old Chelsea loanee Bashir Humphreys for a longer period a the club. Humphreys is a huge future prospect and is currently on loan at SC Paderborn.
He joined the German second-division club towards the end of the January transfer window and has had a significant impact in his short time at the club. He has impressed the people at the club and they want to keep him for a longer duration. His loan move expires in the summer of 2023 after which he will return to his parent club.
But, club chief Benjamin Weber wants to sign the player on a permanent basis. Before securing a loan move to SC Paderborn he made his senior team debut for Chelsea against Manchester City in the FA Cup. The 19-year-old joined Chelsea U18 back in the summer of 2019 from Reading U18.
While he has put in some exceptional performances in the age group fixtures, he hasn’t pushed for a place in the senior team yet. The England U19 star is yet to feature in the Premier League for Chelsea. His move to the German second-division side is to ensure that he can get minutes at the senior level.
