The emerging Brazilian defender has impressed Los Blancos with his performances at the Under-20 South American Championships. And the reigning La Liga champions are ready to pay €40 million to sign him from Zenit St. Petersburg.
Robert Renan spent his formative years in his homeland, turning out for the academies of Gremio and Corinthians. And the 19-year-old turned professional with Corinthian before arriving in Europe by joining Zenit St. Petersburg. But he is yet to make his debut for the Russian outfit.
In the meantime, Renan has made his mark at the Under-20 South American Championships with Brazil. And the emerging Brazilian defender’s progress in the last few months has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid.
The reigning La Liga champions have seen a centre-back arrive in the last three summer transfer windows. And Real Madrid might delve into the market for another central defender at the end of the season. That is because Nacho faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
